“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement; nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
– Helen Keller

That is my goal as a teacher!  I want my students to know that I believe in them and will do everything in my power to help them achieve.  This is my twentieth year teaching third, fourth and fifth graders at the Charlotte A. Dunning School in Framingham, MA. I have been the teacher leader for writing, and a member of the district’s language arts committee. I have been a teacher in residence at the Boston Museum of Science and I teach graduate courses in writing and technology as an adjunct instructor at Framingham State College. As a mimio master I have presented interactive whiteboard technology techniques for the Mimio Corporation and I am proud to be the 2010 MASSACHUSETTS TEACHER OF THE YEAR! (Check out my journey here)

My teaching philosophy is as easy as ABC: Acceptance, Belonging and Community.

I have a B.A. from Quinnipiac University and I earned my M.Ed. from Lesley University. I have been a common core fellow sponsored by Pearson Learning and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and have attended many national educational conferences.

I am the proud mother of two awesome children, Jillian and Noah and a beautiful grandaughter, Parker Rose.  Rounding out the family are two cats, Sammi and Delilah!

I am a BIG New York Yankees fan. I love the beach and I love to travel, read, garden, go to the theater and movies, and spend time with my friends and family.
